Fairy Festive
Notes on berry season, bear encounters and fashion finds that feel a bit romantic
I adore this time of year in East Tennessee — the lush greenery, the berries in bloom, the summer rainstorms! I love to take Luna on ‘fairy walks’ through the paths around us. The trees envelop you and the birds chatter away. The fireflies light up the nearby creeks in the evenings.
We did have a small (and startling) encounter with two black bears on the way back from our morning walk today (they ran immediately) — but safe to say nature is very much active this time of year!
Since I was little, I remember reading about and seeking inspiration from botany, herbalism, medicinal plants and folklore. Perhaps it’s my Irish and Scottish ancestry, which I’m sure sparks my love for Outlander…
With that said, a few items that have a touch of fairy festive — for moments when I want to feel feminine, grounded and in tune with the high summer season.
This claw clip from Undo Hairware. To tie up a chic French twist or a messy bun.
The Mulberry flat from Matisse. They pair perfectly with any short, skirt or dress.
The Rina top from Cou Cou Intimates. A classic white top with just the right touch of sweet.
This pajama set from Lake. The pair makes a great coffee jaunt outfit with the right sunnies and sandals. Or throw the top over a swimsuit.
The Louisa dress from Doen. To be dressed up or down for any summer wine nights.
The Antique Summer pant from Laneway. Embroidery feels most fairy like.
The Ruth bag from Alienina. For all your treasures and troves.
